In the FIFA World Cup semi-final, Argentina defeated England 2-1. After the match, Argentina player Tagliafico was interviewed.

Speaking about the match, Tagliafico said: "This match was incredibly tough. We knew it would be difficult, and we knew it would be an extremely hard-fought game, as this match itself had a special meaning. We prepared thoroughly for this game. Although our performance in the first half wasn't the best, I think that in the second half, even after conceding a goal, we played even better, actively attacking and constantly looking for opportunities. We knew that we had to win the match within 90 minutes."

He continued: "Of course, there are always moments in a game when you have to endure pain; it's always been this way, and it always will be. If we didn't have this suffering, we wouldn't be Argentinians. Argentinians experience pain and then win; that's just how it is. This is our characteristic – full of passion and diligent. We must put on the jersey, work hard, and fight for the game, because games are won through effort. That's why. Because we fought until the last minute. And throughout the entire FIFA World Cup, we've always been like this. A game can be won in the 1st minute or decided in the 90th minute. So today, just like in previous matches, we won in our own way."

Regarding the final against Spain, Tagliafico stated: "That will be a very difficult match, very difficult. We've watched all of Spain's games. We know they are a team that deserves to be in the final, and it will definitely be an exciting final. The playing styles of our two teams are very similar; both like to control possession. So, this match will definitely be very anticipated and very exciting. Moreover, Argentina and Spain haven't played each other for a long time. I think most people have been looking forward to seeing this match. The previous Finalissima didn't happen, so now, we finally have the opportunity to complete this showdown in the FIFA World Cup final."

Speaking about facing one of the world's best wingers again, Tagliafico said: "Yes, that's how football is nowadays. Teams now use wingers, and these wingers all have excellent individual abilities. But ultimately, it's still about defending as a team and playing as a team, because a game is never won by one person alone. So, I believe this will be a very exciting final. Let everyone continue to enjoy it."
