The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, believes that the indictment of the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, in the 'Negreira case' will have consequences, unlike other voices that claim it won't.

"It won't amount to nothing," he stated on Wednesday in Cádiz, where the Andalusian club presented the Sportech City business development project to transform the city, create jobs and wealth, and become a hub for attracting talent and technology.
"The judge is following logic, but it won't amount to nothing," Tebas assured after the judge Joaquín Aguirre decided to indict Laporta on Wednesday in the investigation into the payment of 7.3 million euros by Barcelona to the ex-vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), José María Enríquez Negreira.
Tebas added: "I am certain... I don't control the timing, but this won't be for nothing."
He also mentioned that he has not yet had the opportunity to speak with the Barça president.
When asked if Laporta should resign after the indictment, Tebas did not comment, saying: "I don't have to answer that; it's not my responsibility. If he believes he is innocent and there's nothing, then he will continue to be in charge."
The president of LaLiga did mention that "in the last matchday, we saw that the board of directors of Sevilla did not want to be in the VIP box with Laporta. Some clubs are upset about this action."
Regarding the Sportech City project, Tebas described it as "very important" because it allows clubs to gain momentum and go much further, "just like Cádiz are doing."
