Madrid is a city which is immensely proud of its history and its culture, and there are many things which make the Spanish capital special, none more so than its two biggest football clubs.
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are two clubs with immense history, and they are the first clubs from the same city to ever dispute a Champions League final. Their rivalry spans back decades and this weekend it's set to take place in a new stadium: the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.
In addition, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this will be the first time the teams have ever faced each other without the fans and passion that make this fixture what it is.
The Di Stefano will be the 13th stadium which has hosted the fixture. In the early 1900s, teams in Madrid didn't have a stadium of their own and would play fixtures wherever they could around the city. This accounts for why this game has been played in a staggering 12 different locations thus far.
The most recent stadiums in which this fixture has been played are the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the Estadio Vicente Calderon, with the Calderon originally being called the Estadio Manzanares until it was renamed on July 14, 1971.
The most recent stadium to host the derby for the first time is Atletico's Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, which saw a 0-0 draw between the sides on November 18, 2017.
Today, however, a new stadium will be added to the list of Madrid derbies.
