Finishing as runners-up in their group has left Real Madrid with the prospect of facing teams such as Manchester City, Juventus or Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16.
Despite a great performance at home against Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday, the 2-2 draw means Real Madrid will end the group in second place.
This means they will end up facing a non-Spanish winner of another group.
Three teams have already secured the first place in their respective groups, namely Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester City.
Therefore, they could potentially be the next opponents for the Los Blancos.
More teams are set to qualify from and potentially secure first place in the remaining groups after their round of matches on Wednesday.
Liverpool, Barcelona, Red Bull Salzburg and Ajax currently lead their respective groups and remain on course for a face off against Real Madrid in the knockout stages - although the Catalan club can't face them at such an early stage.
The draw for the knockout stages is set to take place on December 16.

I want Real Madrid to play against Juventus and Liverpool to play against Barcelona .There is a benefit of both . Madrid will get the best out of them and Barcelona got the chance to sack Valverde.
