Philippe Coutinho is about to complete 18 months as an FC Barcelona player. He joined from Liverpool during the previous season's winter transfer window and, after six months of adaptation, the Camp Nou expected to see him kick on this year. However that hasn't been the case.
Coutinho has played 30 more matches this season but has been involved in just as many goals as last season. In his first six months at Barça, he played in 22 matches, scored ten goals and provided six assists. This year he's matched those numbers with 11 goals and five assists. One more goal and one less assist.
However where it becomes more clear is that those goal contributions came from 22 matches - 1,483 minutes - last season. This season he's played in 52 games (3,255 minutes). That means he's played 1,772 minutes more this season just to match his half-season campaign. It's been 12 months to forget for Barça's record transfer signing.

He got boooed for a couple secs at most. Coutinho though got boooed heavily every time he touched the ball but as the match went on that became more applause than whistles.

Also, just as there were a lot of people whistling Coutinho, there were a lot of them clapping to mute the others. Shame that a few supporters have meant Barca have been lumped in with real to booing their own players

Long life Countinho and shame on Valverde for ruining Countinho’s career at Barca, hope he gets sacked and new coach play Countinho in midfield.
