Arthur Melo was forced to leave the pitch after just half an hour after being on the receiving end of a horror challenge by Honduras' Quioto. The opposition player was subsequently sent off for the challenge.
The Barça midfielder couldn't continue and was taken off on a stretcher.
Sources close to Arthur have revealed that the player immediately put ice on the knee as they looked to bring down the inflammation from the impact of the challenge.
According to 'Rede Globo', the medical team at Brazil don't consider it a serious injury. "It's just a knock." They remain hopeful he'll be available for the Copa America which starts next Friday for Brazil.
In the next few hours, Arthur will travel to a local hospital to have a scan on his knee and so there's a better diagnosis on the damage suffered.

it's high FIFA start looking at how to penalize players who caused injuries to others intentionally. they should be prosecuted or something
the injuries that some unlucky players get are sometimes permanent and what is the justice for that. FiFA should start looking at some measures to make sure animal heart players are punished more than just giving a red card and a mere 3 match ban

Yes Eddycure I remember that match in match in Miami. 5-0 it ended in favour of Brazil. Quite savage!! Since then I've never looked favorably on Honduras, Guatemala, and the like....

some of hunduras players are nasty. I remember that I was at a Brazil vs hunduras in Miami few years ago, one of them almost kill neymar. Brazil should never play friendly game with them anymore

It was never intentional. Dangerous tackle but players never do that intentionally. Roy keane is the only player I know who deliberately tackled to hurt another player
"players NEVER to that intentionally " you say? I don't really think you're confident in what you're saying. Some players are mean-spirited that much we know, and only VAR and reproach from their clubs and staff restraint some footballers from acting like animals. Honduras & Panama have had some of the most ill-tempered & indisciplined players in Latin America.

"just a knock?" I fear for Arthur, Brazil needs his enthusiasm and passes in midfield. Hope he recovers quickly. If not, then I'm sorry there's no viable option at CM with the exception of Paqueta, whose a bit green!!
