The reasons why Hansi Flick is pushing for Barcelona to re-sign Joao Felix

Barcelona are currently working on identifying transfer targets – and also figuring out what they need to go to sign them, given their ongoing financial problems. One player that will be sought is Joao Felix, and it is expected that will re-sign from Atletico Madrid at some stage this summer.

Atleti do not count on Felix, so they are happy to move him on again. Barcelona are hoping for similar terms to the ones agreed last summer, as they want to commit as little money as possible to the operation.

Had Xavi Hernandez stayed in charge, a deal for Felix would not have been prioritised by Barcelona, but Flick sees the Portuguese differently. As per Sport, he believes that Felix is a difference maker, and is someone that has enormous talent. Furthermore, he's convinced that he can get the best out of him.

Felix had a difficult first season at Barcelona, although he wasn't the only one. If he can reach his best, he will be a great addition, and he could also be the key to someone like Nico Williams joining, given that it could allow Raphinha to be moved on, which would raise the funds required for the Athletic Club and Spain winger.
