Tigres are lining up Atlético Madrid star Angel Correa as a blockbuster signing for the Liga MX’s Apertura 2025 tournament.
Inside sources have told AS México that Atlético has already received a formal offer from Tigres for the Argentine forward’s services.
How much has Tigres offered for Correa?
The Mexicans are understood to have bid around $9 million for Correa, who is under contract at Atlético until 2026 but is no longer in Diego Simeone’s long-term plans.
The player has already negotiated terms with Tigres, who are eight-time champions of Mexico.
Correa in Metropolitano farewell last month
Correa said his goodbyes to the Atlético fans on May 18, playing his final game at the Estadio Metropolitano in a 4-1 LaLiga win over Real Betis.
Currently with Los Rojiblancos at the Club World Cup, the 30-year-old will leave Atleti’s travelling squad if the transfer is finalized, unless the teams reach an agreement for him to continue participating in the tournament.
Atlético makes its Club World Cup debut today, Sunday June 15, in a group-stage game against Paris Saint Germain in Pasadena, California.
