Barcelona will finally make their long-awaited return to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou against Athletic Club on Saturday, November 22, a year after they originally claimed they would reopen. But fans hoping for a homecoming treat will pay dearly, with ticket prices through the roof despite repeated delays.

Limited capacity for the big day

For the LaLiga weekend clash against the Basque club, Barça have secured a license allowing 45,000 spectators into the stadium for the first time. With construction still ongoing, only select sections of the arena are open. Once fully completed, the revamped Spotify Camp Nou will hold 105,000 fans.

Ticket prices spark outrage

Last Monday, Barcelona offered season ticket holders early access through a presale, with a general sale starting 24 hours later. The cheapest tickets cost €199 ($229), while the best seats can reach €589 ($679).

The high prices have drawn backlash from supporters, already frustrated by repeated delays to their team’s return home. The reduced capacity means many usual attendees will be left out of the stadium experience.

No tickets for Athletic fans

Adding fuel to the fire, Athletic Club has not been allocated any tickets, angering supporters of the Bilbao-based team and intensifying the controversy around Barça’s long-awaited homecoming.
