Here we take a look at what the summer could hold for Tottenham's nine midfielders as the club look to move forward once again after falling behind in recent years
The summer of 2023 is a huge one for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club as they look to move forward. Previously challenging at the top under Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs have slipped away over the past four years and they must find a way of getting back on track.
As well as looking to bring in a new head coach and managing director of football this summer, chairman Daniel Levy must also help give the squad a much-needed refresh. There will be incomings and outgoings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of the summer transfer deadline, with eyes very much on the deals Tottenham do for their new boss.
So what does the future hold for Tottenham's nine midfielders currently at the club? football.london takes a look below.
That is going to be a hard task once the Uruguayan is back to fitness, though, but Skipp will certainly be part of Tottenham's plans going forward.

The player will certainly have a fight on his hands next year as the new head coach may have other ideas for in midfield and Yves Bissouma's return to fitness and potentially getting back to the levels he displayed at Brighton could impact the Dane.
Verdict: Keep
Minutes will be hard to come by once again next season and that may see the player head out on loan if he isn't in the new head coach's plans.
Verdict: Loan, if minutes are to be limited
Verdict: Keep
Making a huge name for himself at Brighton, Tottenham made a transfer statement last summer after clinching a deal for the highly-rated Mali international. His move has just not worked out as planned, though.
Finding himself behind Hojbjerg and Bentancur in the pecking order, Bissouma struggled with the tactical aspect under Antonio Conte and a new head coach could potentially be the making of him at Tottenham. Hopefully he will be a new player once he returns from injury.
Verdict: Keep
Verdict: Sell
As is the case with Winks, both player and club need to go their separate ways as Tottenham look to try and move forward under their new head coach.
Verdict: Sell
Going on his woes over the past few years, Tottenham may struggle to part with him on a permanent basis as clubs aren't exactly going to be queuing up for his services. Tottenham need to move on and so does Ndombele.
Verdict: Sell
An exit makes sense from a Tottenham perspective as they will be able to bring in a fee for the player instead of seeing him to depart on a free come the end of his contract in 2024 unless his deal is extended.
Verdict: Sell
