Villarreal don't want to sell Alfonso Pedraza this winter, with the Yellow Submarine having rejected a formal offer for the left-back from Napoli and having also dismissed interest from Barcelona in the left-back.

07:45 GMT: Valencia close in on a signing

It seems that Valencia are set to bolster their defence, with Los Che said to have reached an agreement with Basel to sign Eray Comert. According to Fabrizio Romano, a medical will take place in the coming days for the centre-back.

06:00 GMT: Luis Suarez could thwart Arsenal's Vlahovic pursuit

According to The Mirror, Luis Suarez may have set in motion a domino effect that will hurt Arsenal's chances of landing Dusan Vlahovic. It is said that Suarez has advised former teammate Steven Gerrard to sign Rodrigo Bentancur for Aston Villa. If that happens, then Juventus would have enough cash from the Bentancur sale to pursue Vlahovic, who until now had been most seriously linked with Arsenal.

Barcelona are looking at left-back options and one of them is believed to be Nicolas Tagliafico. Ajax would be willing to sell him, but Barcelona would prefer a loan. In either case, the player could put pressure on the Dutch club to let him depart.

River Plate striker Julian Alvarez is in talks with Manchester City, according to Sky Sports News. Described as "the Argentine Haaland", the 21-year-old is one of the top prospects coming out of South America and several clubs are competing for his signature.
