Everton are keen on bringing Ross Barkley back to the club on loan in the January transfer window, as the 28-year-old is not enjoying much playing time at Chelsea. Last season, he impressed during a loan spell at Aston Villa.

12:00 GMT: Newcastle eye Gabigol

Newcastle United are determined to add more talent to their squad in January as they look to avoid relegation from the Premier League and, with Benfica having turned down their enquiry for Darwin Nunez, the Mirror claim that they have switched their attention towards Flamengo forward Gabriel Barbosa, who is known simply as Gabigol. The Magpies want to sign Gabigol on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy for 17 million pounds.

11:30 GMT: Inter want to beat Juventus to Scamacca

Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has attracted interest from both Juventus and Inter, but with the Bianconeri needing to sell players first, the Nerazzurri are ready to put aside 45 million euros to try and sign the 22-year-old, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

11:00 GMT: Coutinho prioritising Arsenal over Newcastle

Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Newcastle United both interested in acquiring his services, but it seems that he is ready to prioritise a move to the Emirates Stadium over St James' Park.

Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne is set to become a free agent next summer, with the Italian having not reached an agreement to extend his deal with the Partenopei, and Corriere dello Sport claim that MLS side Toronto FC have offered him a deal worth 50 million dollars over five years.

Real Sociedad are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, according to the Sun.

"Real Sociedad are hoping to persuade Manchester United to release Juan Mata as a free agent in January," the Sun report.

09:30 GMT: Mbappe turns down Tottenham

Kylian Mbappe was asked about whether he would join Tottenham Hotspur during an interview with CNN, following the actor Tom Holland's question at the Ballon d'Or ceremony.

"I don't think I'll play for Tottenham in my life," Mbappe said. "Tom Holland [Spiderman star and Tottenham fan] asked me about it... but no."

09:00 GMT: Sarabia heading back to LaLiga Santander?

Pablo Sarabia is on loan at Sporting CP from Paris Saint-Germain, but Le Parisien report that the Spanish playmaker could return to LaLiga Santander next summer.

According to the journalist Gerard Romero, Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has an agreement in place to join Barcelona.

"Cesar Azpilicueta has an agreement in principle with Barcelona to join on a free next summer. Only a family issue could see a U-turn with the deal," announced Gerard Romero.

Kylian Mbappe was interviewed by CNN about his possible move to Real Madrid after winning the Globe Soccer Awards' prize for the best men's footballer of the year, which led to the Paris Saint-Germain forward acting somewhat coy.
