According to TyC Sports journalist Gastón Edul, Gio Lo Celso is out of the 2022 World Cup for Argentina. He will undergo surgery.

Lo Celso did impossible to be at the World Cup, but unfortunately it was not enough. Villarreal will issue a statement that he’s going to undergo a surgery, out from the World Cup.

Giovani Lo Celso even informed Villarreal and Tottenham that if he would go to the World Cup without having surgery, he was willing to not to receive any salary for 2 months in exchange.
