The UEFA gala was celebration of Real Madrid, the Champions League winners and their players but the surprising absentee was Gareth Bale whose goal in Kiev was forgotten with another overhead kick by Cristiano Ronaldo named the best.
Luka Modric was named the best player and the top midfielder, Sergio Ramos was chosen as the best defender, Keylor Navas the best goalkeeper and Ronaldo, the best forward.
While Bale hit a double in the Champions League final, he was not nominated for any awards. For the overall gongs during the season this can be understood but surely his first goal in the final deserved some reward.
Whether Ronaldo's goal was better than Bale's is subjective with each person looking at the skill involved but the best goal was between the two of them.

It's just the brand value that overshadowed an otherwise incredible and maybe most important goal when tge team needed it at the most crunch and apex level, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

When the nominees announced I comment that Bale's goal was best in technical and situation both ways.I never understand that awards policy. tbh
