There is enormous difficulty in winning the Champions League because throughout the competition details are produced that are often unexpected and become a bitter pill to swallow.
Therefore, one of the maxims of this competition is knowing how to compete for the full 90 minutes of the match.
Don't leave room for mistakes, especially if these can be avoided.
A clear example is the second yellow card Samuel Umtiti received for Barcelona against PSV Eindhoven, with ten minutes left and when the scoreboard was 3-0 in favour of the hosts.
He won't play at Wembley against Tottenham in surely the most difficult test that Barcelona will face in their group.
It was a childish mistake.
The match against the Dutch side was absolutely over and the Catalans would've been more interested in having the Frenchman in London than not conceding a late goal.
Umtiti should've got out of the way of the rival striker, but his inability to do so means that it's now time for Clement Lenglet to step up.
He's a relative unknown having only played one full game, the first against Sevilla in the Super Cup.
Now he will have the opportunity to prove his worth in a very difficult scenario.
Although knowing Valverde, you can't rule out him playing Vermaelen against his old foes.

No point to argue about will play coz Valverde surely prefers Lenglet who's been given way more chances than Vermaelan this season.... But I feel that Valverde should give Lenglet full 90 minutes against Girona as well so that he can get more used to the way Barca plays

I would prefer him to play Vermaelen he’s been there for us before so it won’t be new doing it again....Unlike Lenglet he’s new and to taste his abilities that should not be against Totenham.

useless second yellow conceded by him but I believe Barcelona can cope without umtiti , even Spurs is out form and with the way Barcelona are playing the will not have problem against Spurs they just need to watch against counter attack.

Second yellow justified, first one not at all. He shouldn’t have received red but that’s football.

Let the most exposed player in the history of the big leagues tell you.

Umtiti commits the foul after failing Pique because he can not score the PSV player ... In part he is responsible for the second yellow.

Let's see if Lenglet complies. I see Umtiti playing very well? Does the 90 need more concentration? Rotations

If it were available, Vermaelen would take him to London. He is more integrated in the team and knows the Premier. Last year he was perfect replacing Umtiti. Lenglet must improve.

LENGLET is not going to press the incumbents (yesterday in 10 minutes ta was twice overflowed) and VERMAELEN with 33 and chronically injured, less.

The loose party of PIQUÉ and the self-expulsion of UMTITI would not happen if VALVERDE moved to the team and the holders felt that their ownership is not sacred.

Let's see if Lenglet meets the note and serves as a wake-up call to wake up, because I see this boy asleep for a long time, accommodated without fear for his position and even left over, I do not know. Maybe it's my stuff but it starts to bother me.

Ete is one of those who criticize Valverde for keeping the new fichejes on the bench. Precisely, Mr. "Colorado", to prevent situations like this, has been brought to Lenglet

And what is a "useful expulsion"? Because a useful input, a useful protest, useful hands, it is understood, but not a useful or useless expulsion. Unless you are expelled to the worst player in the history of the club, so perhaps it is understood.

Comments from the international press say that Messi starts very strong and in the end comes exhausted and without joy to eighths and quarters!

In this expulsion I see at least something positive: now Valverde is OBLIGED to rotate. Go that more stubborn type, they will end the same as in the previous years, getting fused to the final phase.

Well there are Lenglet and Vermaelen, I see no problem

Man, if we do not trust our bench then turn off and let's go, but we already know what this newspaper likes to paint in black everything that has to do with Barça

the first one, which is taken out by protesting in an exaggerated way a minor lack in rival field.

The second card seems to me a throw of the game, it is seen very on the player, a clear counter and instinctively makes the lack.

Well, I do not see it as much as it is useless, one went away and he covered up. It is worth winning, but in this group the average can be important.

priming with an expulsion a newspaper that defends both the most ejected player in history is very unserious ......

it's a good time for lenglet to shine and get some playing time ahead of Umtiti's red card.....I hope he can be good at Wembley stadium against Tottenham

its True he is a great defender, but some time is like he loses concentration and commit silly fouls. hopefully he works on that.
