Valverde 'set for his first public appearance since being sacked by Barcelona'

Ernesto Valverde is set for his first public appearance since being sacked by Barcelona at the Bilbao International Football Summit.

Estadio San Mames will host the meeting between some of the game's top coaches on February 13, including the likes of Fabio Capello, Tite, Lionel Scaloni and Roberto Martinez.

Also present will be Juan Maria Aburto (Bilbao mayor), Luis Villarejo (sporting director of the EFE Agency), Mario Gurrionero (strategic director of Comunicar Es Ganar) and Gheorghe Popescu (former Barcelona player).

The Bilbao International Football Summit will continue to reveal new renowned speakers in the coming days, although the presence of Valverde is the one that stands out having recently been dismissed by Barcelona.

The former Blaugrana coach will collect an award from the BIFS organisers.
