Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek could leave Old Trafford in January and he is reportedly considering his options after failing to establish himself as a regular under Ralf Rangnick.
According to ESPN, the midfielder hasn't been convinced by the German's promises of greater involvement and is eager to play regularly to reclaim his place in the Holland squad.
The 24-year-old won the last of his 19 caps for the national team in June last year and was not included in any of the seven World Cup qualifiers the Oranje played over the last four months.
Holland manager Louis Van Gaal has made clear he will only consider players who feature regularly for their clubs, meaning Van de Beek may have to leave Old Trafford in order to win a place in the squad for the World Cup in Qatar this winter.
The Dutchman joined United in a £35 million deal from Ajax in the summer of 2020 but has been a largely peripheral figure so far.
The 24-year-old started only four Premier League games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season and is yet to be included in the starting XI for a league match this term.
After taking over as interim manager at Old Trafford in November, Rangnick suggested Van de Beek would be more involved but has named him among the starters just once.
The midfielder was an unused substitute for United's 1-0 defeat against Wolves at Old Trafford on Monday night.
According to the report, United would be prepared to allow Van de Beek to leave on loan but will only consider offers that include a loan fee and that will cover the player's wages for the remainder of the season.
Rangnick will have the final say on any deal and the German is understood to be eager to keep the midfielder at Old Trafford, given United are still involved in three different competitions.
Earlier this week, the Mirror reported that Van de Beek's plans of leaving in January could be further complicated by a dispute involving his current and former agent.
The former Ajax player parted ways with his agent Guido Albers in October and reportedly turned to Ali Dursun, who has worked for the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Victor Lindelof.
His plans to appoint Dursun as his new agent, however, have been blocked by Albers, who is determined to hold the player to a contract he signed in 2020.
Van de Beek is just one of several United players who are understood to be disillusioned with life at Old Trafford.
As reported by Sportsmail, the mood around Carrington has been described as ‘oppressive’, with up to half the squad said to be unhappy.
The Dutchman is one part of a group of players containing Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Dean Henderson who would leave this month if they had the opportunity.

He must learn from Philip Jones he stay for along season with one game but last Monday coach gave him a chance to play, he showed that he was really hunger to play everyone was empressed his spirit of playing. We even compare with maguire. Philip must start than maguire.

Problem van deek does not show hunger when is given a chance to play, he continues to play lazyness, now we notice that we were blaming Ole for nothing. Look at him now, new coach but still playing his own way not the way coach wanted him to play. Hemust go for true. How many chances has been given to him to play? But still doesn't show any winning pay game..

How can a coach start a defender who didn't play for 2 seasons just like that.. that doesn't happen even on a very low soccer leagues.. Ole or Carrick never played their team mate Phil Jones.. I still think Aaron wan baishaka next to Varena and Dalot as RB would've work...
But he was one of the best players on the field. What's your point of debate?

assurances without game time . it's unfair when the lad watches mediocre midfielders get game time ahead of him and when they want to use him it's to replace Bruno or to play in a second team with no gel . that's not how you make a player fit into a club.

I don’t know what is really wrong even ragnick still won’t play van de beek. Isn’t he training well or what. Ragnick still chose the set of players Ole choose. Something is wrong behind the closed scene which we need to know. Pogba is injured and van hasn’t played a full match in epl
