Real Madrid’s Brazilian striker and renowned rapper-entrepreneur have come together in a new venture.

Real Madrid and Brazil striker Vini. Jr are close to becoming owners of a Portuguese second tier football club.

Reports suggest that the current FIFA The Best player is poised to form part of the consortium set to take control of Liga Portugal 2 Futebol Clube de Alverca.

The second tier side hail from the town of Alverca de Ribatejo some 30km from Portuguese capital Lisbon and play at the 8,000 capacity Estadio Complexo Desportivo do FC Alverca.

News of the potential deal was originally announced by portal Maisfutebol and later confirmed by Portuguese sports outlet A Bola , with negotiations having been ongoing for some time and a conclusion expected to be finalized in the forthcoming days.

As part of the consultation process, Vinícius is supported in the venture by agency Roc Nation Sports Brazil, with Roc Nation a founded by North American rapper Jay-Z in 2008.

The deal for the club is reportedly close to the 10 million euro mark with negotiations ongoing between Roc Nation directly with Ricardo Vicintin, the 75-year-old Brazilian businessman who, since July 2022, has been the majority shareholder of the club holding 77% of the capital of the SAD (limited sproting company).

Alverca were promoted last season from the third tier of Portuguese football and under the guidance of coach Vasco Botelho da Costa, currently sit in 8th place in the Liga 2 table on 24 points, seven points behind 3rd place, which offers a tilt at a play-off place to secure promotion to the top tier.
