Vinicius ready for the Champions League

After having played at the Camp Nou and the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, Vinicius Jr is set to face Ajax at Johan Cruyff Arena.

In a very short period of time the Brazilian has gained Santiago Solari's confidence and has secured a slot in Real Madrid's starting line-up.

The 18-year-old forward has been vital in the rejuvenation of the team in the last few weeks, as since he joined the first team, Real Madrid have recovered their form.

Vinicius brought something fresh to the team, as his quality upfront and his contribution to the game have been crucial for Los Blancos.

Although it could have been logical for him to be coming back from the 2019 South American U20 Championship at the moment, he preferred to stay in Madrid and focus on his team, rather than join up with the national squad.

The tournament coincided with the Copa del Rey and he thought that he was going to get some of the opportunities he needed, to prove his worth and since then he played in each and every Real Madrid game, having started the last six.

In the Champions League he has played 118 minutes in the games against Viktoria Plzen and CSKA Moscow but has yet to score in the competition - something he will try to achieve in Amsterdam.
