What punishment could Valverde get after Baena's denouncement?

Villarreal player Alex Baena has filed a complaint against Fede Valverde following the punch the Uruguayan threw at him after the Real Madrid 2-3 Villarreal game at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Castellon club announced that it would not intervene in the proceedings, leaving the responsibility in the hands of the Spain Under-21 international. The Yellow Submarine player had the option of filing a complaint with the Police, the Competition Committee or both, but finally chose the first route, as 'Onda Cero' advanced.

Valverde: 'disqualification' or financial penalty

Baena's action means that the case is a criminal case, rather than a sporting one. Therefore, Valverde will not receive a sanction, but could be disqualified.
