Earlier this week, it was confirmed that two Malian teenagers would be joining Barcelona: Ibrahim Diarra will official sign on a permanent basis after he turns 18 in December, while Arouna Traore has also jetted in for a 15-day trial period.
Traore is not as widely known as Diarra, but he is someone that is also highly-rated in African football, as per Sport. He recently turned 17, so he would not be able to join Barcelona permanently until January 2026, although firstly, he will have the opportunity to impress whilst on trial.
Traore is an attacker that is described as being “fast, powerful and technical”, while he is also seen as a differential player. He was previously on trial at La Masia last winter, and having impressed on that occasion, it was decided that he would return again in 2024.
It remains to be seen how Traore gets on this time around, but what’s certain is that Barcelona are committed to giving African talent a chance.
