Arsenal news: Stan Kroenke has faced his fair share of criticism from supporters but he has gradually improved his reputation at the Emirates Stadium
Arsenal are enjoying their most successful period under Stan Kroenke's ownership. The Gunners have restored their status as one of England's best teams and will return to the Champions League for the first time since 2017 next season.
While much of the gratitude is rightly aimed at Arteta, Edu Gaspar and the players, owner Kroenke has seen his reputation amongst the Emirates Stadium drastically improve in recent years.
In 2021, the American businessman was the subject of heavy protests following the revelation of plans for the European Super League. Fortunately for supporters, the plans fell through and football's pyramid continued as normal.
Following such a successful 2022/23 season, Kroenke will be busy over the summer improving the playing squad at the Emirates Stadium. The US businessman, alongside his duties in England, oversees a number of franchises in the United States in different sports.
Born in Columbia, Missouri in 1947, Stan is owner of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. The Denver-based company is the holding company of a number of sports clubs across the globe, as well as Esports teams.
Alongside owning Arsenal, the 75-year-old owns the LA Rams of the NFL, the Denver Nuggets of the NBA, Colorado Avalanche of the NHL, Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer, Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League and the LA Guerrillas of the Call of Duty League.
He bought his first shares in Arsenal - 9.9% - in 2007 before gradually increasing his ownership. In 2011, his stake grew to 62.89% after he purchased Danny Fizman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith's shares.
Now, Kroenke solely owns the club after buying Alisher Usmanov's shares, a deal thought to be worth in the region of £602m.
After seeing the Gunners fall short in the Premier League title race, Kroenke is on course to be victorious in his franchises in the States. If the Nuggets win the NBA Finals against Miami Heat, he will become the first owner to win the three major North America titles.
