Real Sociedad had started like a train at the Santiago Bernabeu and in just 10 minutes had managed to score twice against Real Madrid.
However, La Real's second goal was not allowed to count. Take Kubo had scored a wonderful goal, but the referee and the VAR could not validate it.
The reason? Mikel Oyarzabal's back and his position. The Real Sociedad captain got into the path of the shot and, while offside, slightly touched the ball with his back and prevented the goal from counting.
Had he not touched the ball, the goal would not have counter either, though, because being in the path of the shot, he blocked goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga's vision.
It was a huge disappointment for Real Sociedad, who thought they had made it 0-2. The San Sebastian side came out all guns blazing at the Bernabeu and had several chances in the early stages.
After that, Real Madrid began to get into the rhythm of the game, equalising just after the break through Fede Valverde.
