Jan Oblak went into the current season with the personal challenge of being the first goalkeeper to claim five Zamora awards in a row, but recent matches have all but ended that dream for the Atletico Madrid star.
First Alaves, then Barcelona got past the Slovenian, with two penalties and a Diego Costa own goal. Three instances which have cost him a lot.
Taking account Real Madrid's match Getafe will be played on Thursday, Oblak has conceded 25 times in 33 games - 0.75 goals per match - while his rival for the award, Thibaut Courtois, has let in just 18 goals from 29 games - 0.62 per match.
That difference looks increasingly insurmountable for Oblak with the season drawing to a close. Despite that, there is no doubt that the goalkeeper is one of the best in the world and a great asset to Atletico Madrid.

Sometimes I wonder for Barcelona fans because they always think any player in their club is a world class
