Wu Lei nets first league goal this season but Espanyol still wait first home win

Espanyol finally secured their first home LaLiga Santander point of the season, but they'll be disappointed not to have secured their first RCDE Stadium win.

After losing their opening five home games of the domestic campaign, the Catalan side drew 1-1 against Getafe in a match that they started terribly.

Marc Roca gave the ball away and this led to a third minute corner, from which Marc Cucurella drew a good save, before Jaime Mata turned in a cross just moments later as the ball was recycled back into the area.

A reflex stop in the 21st minute from David Soria against Fernando Calero maintained Getafe's lead, while We Lei headed just off target in the 40th minute as Espanyol sought an equaliser.

Wu Lei and Espanyol did get the equaliser before half time, as the Chinese striker pounced at the back post to turn a flicked-on corner into the net.

We Lei came close to beating Soria again just before the hour mark, although that move was then called back for a potential offside.

Espanyol were the dominant side in the second half, even if the best chance fell to Getafe's Jorge Molina as he struck the post, but neither side could score a second and it finished 1-1.
