The former Real Madrid manager sat in the VIP seats of his old hunting ground, while the German coach had a chance to monitor Ter Stegen and Kroos.
There were two illustrious managers sat in the VIP section of the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday evening to take in the Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona: Zinedine Zidane and Joachim Löw.
Zidane and Löw: Clásico
Less than a year ago, the French coach was down in the technical area in the stadium whereas he could this time sit back and relax while the game unfolded. In the end he watched Barça win by a single goal, giving them a lead in the Clásico head-to-heads for the first time in 87 years, a battle Zidane himself had been a part of as player and manager.
Also in the stands was Joachim Löw, the German national team manager, who arrived early to savour the atmosphere. As well as enjoying the excitement and atmosphere that goes hand in hand with arguably the biggest game in club football, no doubt he had a special eye on the performances of Barça's Marc-André ter Stegen and Los Blancos' Toni Kroos. Löw has consistently been one manager high on the list of Florentino Pérez as a potential boss.

Zidane watching his beloved team beaten. He could have been the Madrid coach if not for the stupidity and stubbornness of Perez.

Zadine was very smart to leave, he almost got sacked in the middle of last season, because he still had place in the champions leaque, that's what save him, now he's respected whenever he visit Madrid.
