Zinedine Zidane's eagerness to sign Paul Pogba in the summer was no secret, but he appears to have found a capable alternative in Fede Valverde.
The Frenchman spoke to the press ahead of El Clasico on Tuesday morning where he lavished praise on the young Uruguayan and implied that he was in the top bracket of players.
"He is someone that is doing very well and that is the principle of this club, we've always had the best players," Zidane said of Valverde.
On respective current form, it seems very unlikely that the coach is ruing the fact that his fellow countryman did not arrive in the summer.
