Zidane watches his sons play against each other as Theo's club thump Granada 5-0

Zinedine Zidane was spotted cheering on both his sons as the pair put family loyalties aside to go head-to-head in a Spanish second division clash.

The French legend earned icon status while pulling the strings at Real Madrid, where he claimed a Champions League and La Liga title.

He then went on to make history while manager of Los Blancos, becoming the first coach to win the Champions League three times in a row.

His sons, Theo and Luca, are now trying to follow in their father's footsteps, striving to add to the Zidane family legacy in Spain.

Both play their football in LaLiga 2, although for different clubs - with Theo plying his trade as a midfielder for Cordoba while Luca plays in goal for Granada.

The siblings were pitted against each other on Sunday in a must-watch encounter for the Zidane household.

However, it's safe to say that the brotherly bragging rights were not shared come full-time at the Estadio Nuevo Arcangel.

Despite starting the day four points ahead of their opposition in the table, Luca shipped five goals to no response as Granada slumped to a thrashing at the hands of Cordoba.

A dreadful day at the office was made worse as Luca put into his own net on 84 minutes - the fifth and final goal of a 5-0 defeat.

Whilst both sons started their careers in Real Madrid's youth setup, Luca, 26, was the only one of the pair to make a senior appearance for the Galacticos.

Then manager at the Bernabeu, Zidane handed Luca his Real Madrid debut on the last day of the 2017/18 season - a campaign he also picked up a Champions League winners medal as the club's third-choice goalkeeper.

The more experienced of the pair, Luca spent a season at Racing Santander on loan before leaving Madrid for good, since playing for Rayo Vallecano and Eibar ahead of his switch to Granada in 2024.

But while Luca may be the more tenured of the brothers, Theo was the one with the smile on his face on Sunday, getting one over on his older sibling.

And at just 22, Theo will have aspirations of establishing his name at a level higher than the second division - something Luca has yet to do so far in his career.
