Zinchenko shares heart-warming pictures of his newborn from hospital

Oleksandr Zinchenko has become a father for the second time after his wife Vlada Sedan gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday.

The Arsenal star and his football journalist partner are already parents to a two-year daughter, Eva, who was born a year after the pair's wedding in August 2020.

After first hosting a gender reveal event for their second child at the wedding, the couple took to Instagram to share the happy news later that evening, with Sedan welcoming their 'little princess' to the world in a touching post.

The pictures shared by Sedan show the Ukrainian defender beaming down at his newborn daughter and wife hours after the delivery on Wednesday evening, and a string of his team-mates and clubs past and present took to the platform to offer their well wishes.

Arsenal and former club Shakhtar Donetsk both posted messages of congratulations, and Manchester City's Bernardo Silva commented: 'Zina! So happy for you guys (heart emoji)'.

The arrival of the couple's second daughter comes just days before Game4Ukraine, a charity football match organised by Zinchenko in aid of his foundation - and Ukraine's fundraising platform United24 - launched in the wake of the Russian invasion in 2022.

The defender has been an outspoken advocate for his country in the face of Russian aggression and has worked with former AC Milan and Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko to put together the fundraising event, which will be played at Stamford Bridge on August 5.

Funds raised at the match will help the rebuilding of the Mykhailo-Kotsyubinsky School in Chernihiv Oblast which was destroyed in the early stages of the conflict, and fans in attendance will get the chance to see both Zinchenko and his former national team coach captain the two teams.

Footballing luminaries such as Samuel Eto'o, Michael Essien, Claude Makele, Gerard Pique, and Robert Pires will feature in the talent-ladened sides, and Emma Hayes and Arsene Wenger will act as coaches.

Recovering from an injury sustained at the end of last season - as well as preparing for the birth of his daughter - has kept the defender away from Arsenal's latest batch of friendlies, which saw Mikel Arteta's side hoist the Emirates Cup aloft after victory on penalties against Monaco on Wednesday.

Zinchenko was a valuable presence for the Spainiard during their Premier League title-chasing season, immediately entering the starting XI after his August 2022 transfer from English champions Manchester City.

The four-year contract signed by the defender is set to keep the player at the Emirates until 2026.
