National League side Aldershot own have taken a cheeky dig at Chelsea, following their 3-1 pre-season victory over a young Blues side.
While the first-team stars of Stamford Bridge are on tour of the US, a Blues XI made up of club youngsters took on Aldershot at the club's Recreation Ground.
Chelsea took the lead through academy star Ronnie Stutter, just two minutes into the game, but Aldershot went on to win the game thanks to goals from Kwame Thomas, Lorent Tolaj and Jack Barham.
To rub salt into wounds of the side five leagues above them in the football pyramid, Aldershot celebrated their victory by trolling them on their Twitter feed.
Upon confirming their surprise victory, the National League team tweeted: 'A comfortable victory against mid-table Premier League opposition.'
Alluding to the west London side's disappointing campaign last season, which saw them finish 12th in the Premier League table.
The finish for was their worst placing nearly 30 years in the top flight as they managed just 44 points from their 38 games, despite £600m being spent on the side by new owner Todd Boehly.
Chelsea hope to put the dismal campaign behind them and go into the next season under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine has got off to a winning start in his new post, by guiding his troops to back-to-back pre-season victories in the US.
They thrashed Wrexham 5-0 last week and then beat fellow Premier League side Brighton 4-3 over the weekend in game that saw new recruits Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson get on the scoresheet.
The Blues have seen a mass exodus of players over summer as they try a trim down the size of the squad.
Kai Havertz, Kalidou Koulibaly, N'Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, Christian Pulisic and Edouard Mendy are just some of names that have exited already during this transfer window.
