Kylian Mbappe was hailed by the Spanish press after the Paris Saint-Germain star's last-gasp winner gave them a first leg advantage over Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The match appeared to be drifting towards a stalemate when Mbappe - who has been linked with a move to Real this summer - scored a superb individual goal to hand PSG a potentially vital lead.
And the Spanish newspapers appreciated Mbappe's brilliance, even if it came at the expense of one of the country's teams.
'It's the bomb' read the headline on the front of Diario AS, who featured a picture of the moment Mbappe slipped the ball between Thibaut Courtois' legs in the 94th minute.
They described his overall performance as a 'huge exhibition' of his talents and said the Bernabeu crowd will demand a much-improved display from Real in the second leg on March 9.
Mbappe's late winner came after Lionel Messi had earlier seen a penalty saved.
Marca's front cover features pretty much the same picture and the headline: 'How good is Mbappe?'
They praised a complete performance from the French forward against his suitors as PSG threw everything at Real to gain their first leg advantage.
Marca said that Mbappe 'destroyed' Real Madrid and 'dethroned Messi as the No 1 in world football'. They said even the Real fans were singing his name ahead of the likely summer transfer and took pictures of him as he celebrated his late winner.
Diario Sport said that Mbappe's winner 'did justice' to PSG's superior performance, adding the French side have Real 'a shake' with the visitors 'deserving a thrashing' on the night.
'This is how Mbappe wins' read the headline on Mundo Deportivo's cover on Wednesday morning.
They also believed the goal 'by the future Merengue [Real's nickname]' earned PSG a 'justified win for their dominance'.
In an intriguing development, Mbappe gave an interview in Spanish after the match, suggesting he's already brushed up on the language ahead of a summer move to Madrid.
But he was coy when he told Movistar: 'I've not decided my future. I play for Paris Saint-Germain, one of the best clubs in the world.
'This game to influence my future? No - I've not decided, I give my best and then we will see what happens next season.'
Meanwhile, Messi only received a rating of 3/10 from French paper L'Equipe after his penalty miss.

Forget the haters,Messi fans this is the time to stand behind the man. Moving from a club where you spent almost all your life to a new environment can pose to be difficult. Age can also be a factor, but we can all see that he is trying! These are trying times but we hope things get better before he retires✊

So much oiling 🤣🤣🤣 because he is running out of contract, so desperate, even the news journalists. Show me a story about messi destroying Real 🤣, when he actually did that countless of times before
so what if I tell you Madrid is better off than every club in the world?

DESTROYED?? [Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh] . One lucky goal and you say he destroyed. . The goal was amazing, good skills and finishing. One mistake from Courtois, the only mistake from him letting the ball between his legs. But it would be an understatement to judge him by just that. He was spectacular yesterday. . The game isn't over yet. Bernabeu awaits. . Hope a wonderful game awaits. Expecting wonders from both sides.
