Genoa director Giorgio Perinetti backs Goran Pandev starting against Inter rather than Capocannoniere Krzysztof Piatek.
Piatek is top scorer on nine Serie A goals, yet is on the bench at San Siro this afternoon.
“Piatek has to be allowed to relax, mature and is a little tired. He is getting to grips with the new Coach and tactical system,” Perinetti told Sky Sport Italia.
“We played midweek and it’s only right that he is given a rest, especially as this is a special game for Pandev in ‘his’ stadium where he won so much.”
Genoa were beaten in stoppages by Milan at San Siro on Wednesday evening in a rescheduled Week 1 fixture.
