Liverpool fans have been walking on air this Christmas, as their team surge into a seven point lead in the league with a game in hand while winning every match in the Champions League.
But their bubble might be burst when they discover that one of their European enemies of old has a son... and he's pretty good at football.
The Reds broke a 20-year duck in the Champions League in 2005 by producing arguably the game's finest comeback victory against AC Milan in Istanbul, coming from 3-0 down at half time to level things up and eventually win on penalties.
The rematch in the 2007 final brought less joy to Merseyside, however, as the Italian outfit established a two-goal lead thanks to Filippo Inzaghi before Dirk Kuyt scored a late consolation for Liverpool.
That day, Clarence Seedorf pulled the strings at the heart of the Milan midfield to secure his fourth Champions League trophy having become the first player to win the prestigious title with three teams when they won it in 2002-03.
Two days later, he completed a fine week's work by welcoming in his first son, who was born in the northern Italian city to his wife Luviana.
Denzel is now 17 and, in an alarming moment of deja vu for fans of Liverpool and all the sides that Seedorf inflicted misery upon, has made his first appearance at a Milan training session, De Telegraaf reports.
The right-footed midfielder arrived at the Rossoneri youth setup last summer and has already been making an impact in the under-18 top flight, making 13 appearances this season.
Head coach Paulo Fonseca has taken note and promoted him to the first-team training pitch this week in a bid to take a closer look.
Seedorf, born in Suriname, broke a string of record in a 30-year career which began when he broke through the youth side of Ajax and into the first team in 1992.
The following year he lifted a domestic treble with the Dutch side before winning the Champions League at the end of the 1994-95 season to commence his love affair with the famous competition.
Seedorf then headed to Sampdoria on a free transfer and continued his fine form in the middle of the park to earn a move to Real Madrid the following year.
Here, he picked up a second Champions League trophy in 1998 when Los Blancos beat Juventus 1-0 in the final.
The Dutchman fell out of favour with new boss Guus Hiddink and was transferred back to Italy in a pricey move to Inter Milan worth around £20million.
Despite more fine displays, Seedorf failed to bag any silverware at the side and moved to bitter rivals AC in 2002 where his fortunes changed.
His third Champions League title came a season later against his old team Inter in a goalless final where the midfielder failed to convert his own penalty in a successful shoot-out.
After his fourth in 2007, Seedorf became the first player to win the Club World Cup with three teams, having won the honour with both Ajax and Real Madrid.
At the San Siro, the Dutch international formed a formidable midfield trio along with Italian stars Gennaro Gattuso and Andrea Pirlo, which was in action between 2002 and 2012.
For his national team, Seedorf played in 98 matches and featured at four major tournaments, reaching the final of Euro 2000 and 2004 as well as the 1998 World Cup.
If his son Denzel can achieve anything close to the lofty heights his father reached, he will terrorise midfields for years to come.
