AC Milan are reportedly monitoring Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker ahead of a possible move in the summer.
The 32-year-old has one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad and there has so far been no indications that he will renew his stay at the club.
Serie A giants Milan, who could face City in the Champions League final in June, will try to tempt Walker into making the move to Italy according to The Sun.
Walker has appeared in 19 league games has been hampered by injuries and poor form this campaign, with manager Pep Guardiola claiming the England international can not play the inverted role.
Guardiola revealed earlier this month Walker cannot follow the tactical instructions required to take up John Stones’ current role and maintained that, while City continue with this set-up, Walker’s only way in is at centre half.
‘To play inside you have to make some movements, Kyle has other characteristics,’ Guardiola said. ‘With this shape of three at the back and two in the middle, he cannot do it. It’s a question of skills. In that position, he’ll need time and we don’t have time.’
Asked how the England international can force his way back into the starting XI, Guardiola replied: ‘Be himself, train good. He can play in the three at the back. The reason why is tactical. It’s not because we lost faith in Kyle.’
Walker joined City in 2017 and has been instrumental in the club's success since, making 241 appearances and winning multiple honours including four Premier League titles, four League Cup honours and the FA Cup.
Guardiola's side are on the hunt for a historic treble this season after booking a place in the FA Cup final against rivals Manchester United with a comfortable win over Walker's former club Sheffield United.
