Agent Jorge Mendes offered James Rodriguez to Milan for €42m after Napoli refused to pay for the Real Madrid man, claim Sportitalia.
According to transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Mendes is working to consolidate his partnership with the new Milan hierarchy.
James is not on Real Madrid’s radar, even after the Marco Asensio injury, but Napoli are still not prepared to buy him outright, insisting only on a loan with option to buy.
Atletico Madrid are the favourites now, but there could be another solution in the form of Milan.
Coach Marco Giampaolo wants a trequartista – someone to play behind the strikers – and James Rodriguez fits the bill perfectly.
He would also head to Serie A, where he intended to reunite with Carlo Ancelotti, and Real Madrid would avoid reinforcing direct rivals Atleti.
Jorge Mendes had also orchestrated the Andre Silva transfer to Monaco, which incredibly fell apart at the last minute.

It’s a great idea if it’s real. If the Milan directors offload the likes of Suso, Hakan, Biglia, Laxalt, Strinic, Silva & Borini, & bring in James, Depay & Correa will be a much better idea. It’s not that they are better in quality, but they suit Giampaolo’s system as well. Forza Milan 🔴⚫️

I don’t think he will join Milan although I kinda like the idea. His ambitions for a title will be too high and Milan has not won a single trophy in the recent years :/
