Al-Nassr chief makes Cristiano Ronaldo transfer admission after Manchester United exit

Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr's sporting director Marcelo Salazar has claimed "when the time is right the future will be revealed" when asked about Cristiano Ronaldo's potential move to the club.

Ronaldo left Manchester United under a dark cloud in the wake of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The 37-year-old attacked his former club from the very bottom to the very top - criticising the younger generation of footballers in today's game, Erik ten Hag, the board and former colleagues.

The fallout from the two-part special saw United part ways with the veteran, as the only man to have played at the 2022 World Cup without a club continues to look for his next team. Saudi side Al-Nassr have been strongly linked with a move for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Salazar has now been probed further on Ronaldo's future, with Al-Nassr's sporting director admitting he is a huge fan of the Portugal international.

He told Flashscore: "I'm not allowed to say yes or no. Let's wait and see how things unfold until the end of the year.

"As you must realise this is a negotiation that has a huge magnitude, not only for the club, but for the country and for world football, and it has to be conducted by higher authorities. What I can say is that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best in the history of football.

"He has always been an example to me as an athlete, for the will he shows to win. And then, as a Portuguese citizen, I always cheered for him. But when the time is right the future will be revealed."
