The Rangers legend says Juve's board shouldn't allow themselves to be forced into negotiations with the young midfielder's agents.
He explained to TMW Radio: "The calmness is because he already has a four-year contract. After two years in which they spent a lot, Juve are now putting the individual second.
"It's right that if he leaves, he'll go to England where there are many important players. There he'd become one of many. At Juve, if you improve, you're one of the few strong players, so it's right to take it slowly.
"When the team returns to being relevant in the league, we'll talk about it again. When it comes to renewals, every club already has an idea in its head. It's clear that over time, things can evolve.
"But seeing how football is going now, many clubs have been taken by the throat by certain agents. When a player still has four years left on his contract, talking about a renewal is madness to me. Creating a problem is absurd.
"Major clubs, if they win a trophy or a position that makes them earn money, will knock on the door for renewals themselves, but they don't let themselves be taken by the throat."

Very correct, imagine entering into a new contract talk with a player that still has 4years running on his current contract. Absolutely madness and it’s not funny 😡

It’s very true and I agree with you. Football is gradually becoming something else because of some greedy agents and their players☹️☹️☹️. Juventus shouldn’t give in to their pressure😡
