JACK WILSHERE will have to splash out on EIGHT Aarhus kits for his kids — because his new club's first kit is a bit too Spursy.
The Arsenal legend, 30, came off the bench to make his eagerly-awaited debut for Danish Superliga side on Friday, sporting a Tottenham-esque white and navy Hummel kit reminiscent of the Gazza era.
However, the former Gunner, who infamously landed himself in hot water for expressing his hatred for Spurs following an FA Cup open-top bus parade in 2015, clearly has not mellowed with age.
In his first interview since making his Aarhus Gymnastikforening bow, Wilshere confessed he has already been to the club shop to purchase four sets of the club's traditional white kit.
But he is already plotting a speedy U-turn and will dip into his basic £5,000-a-week salary to another batch of four Aarhus second kits in a much more acceptable shade of Arsenal RED!
When SunSport caught up with him in Vejle, Wilshere said: “I've got the four kids to kit out.
“They are aged ten, eight, three and two — and I did get them the first kit when I arrived.”
When it was pointed out the uncanny likeness to his North London rivals' clobber, he smiled and vowed: “It's OK, I'll be getting them the red one as well!”
Despite a ten-minute floodlight failure and going down 3-2 on his debut to Vejle, who started the night bottom of the league, Wilshere was relaxed and eager to talk about his return.
The 34-cap England midfielder showed he was a good sport recently, when he featured in an advert for bookmakers Paddy Power.
After a salesman tries to flog him a pension, Wilshere insists he is still available for work — under the right conditions.
“Jack Wilshere — fit, ready and available for offers,” the ad proclaims before the punchline... “NOT TOTTENHAM!”
Wilshere admits it was a joy to play in front of fans again for the first time in almost 2½ years.
He said: “It's the best feeling in the world.
“I can't remember the last time I played in front of fans. It has got to have been 2019, before Covid.”
Wilshere revealed the love and affection he received from almost 2,000 Aarhus fans brought him out in goosebumps.
The Danish Superliga's highest-profile star stood statue-like in front of the Aarhus away support, gazing at assorted Union Jacks, Arsenal banners and scarves.
JACK SERENADED
After impressing during his 16-minute cameo, Wilshere said: “I genuinely did not know what to do. The lads told me how good our fans are.”
Strugglers Vejle hit the Jack-pot with a 7,121 crowd. However a club official confirmed that a 500-strong Vejle-based Arsenal fans group changed ends for the night to support Wilshere!
He said: “I've worked hard for the last four months at Arsenal.
“Now I'm ready to play games. I got a taste of it tonight and it only makes you want more.”
Ex-Liverpool star Stig Inge Bjornebye, now Aarhus' director of football, revealed Wilshere's new pals serenaded their superstar after the defeat.
He said: “Once you make a debut, all the lads stand and sing the club song to you. It's important for the group — but it's more fun after a win!”

How do you define a legend? If Wilshere is an Arsenal legend, what the n is Alex Song, Diaby, Adebayor, RVP, Giroud?
Wilshere been a legend is justifiable because he’s loyal to arsenal and he’s not a betrayal but all others that you mentioned definitely didn’t deserve legend title because they are betrayal

This looks like an ambush on Wikshere who vehemently refused to wear Tottenham kit in a TV show/ competition. However, his acceptance to make his debut in a kit that looks more like that of Tottenham over the weekend tells of how much he wanted to play football once again
