Arsenal are reportedly (Mirror) looking to use Pablo Mari as a potential makeweight in a bid to sign Udinese star Nahuel Molina.
Mari joined the Serie A outfit in January on loan and wants to continue there following a successful spell thus far.
He's enjoyed regular gametime with the Zebras, starting in 15 top-flight games while also scoring twice as the 28-year-old has established himself firmly in Gabriele Cioffi's side.
Udinese are keen to bring him back to the Stadio Friuli for another season and Arsenal want Molina in return.
According to Ole, the 24-year-old's performances have "put him in the window" for the summer and the Gunners are willing to negotiate a deal for him.
Mirror reports that Udinese value Molina at £24.5 million and their counterparts in north London are ready to make a 'player-plus-cash' offer, with Mari going the other way.
He still has two more years left on his contract with Arsenal but has fallen behind in Mikel Arteta's pecking order and has communicated to the Spaniard his 'desire to continue' in Udine.
Last month, Mari hinted that he wished to remain with the Italian side beyond his loan spell. He told Gazzetta dello Sport:
"When I arrived in January, I had a clear and precise idea. I told the coach and Gino Pozzo that I was coming to play. But I realized that I had to earn the job day after day, training after training. Cioffi was the first who welcomed me, well, here.
He added:
"It's the right championship for me. Very tactical. I try to bring the attacker towards me and here it can be done and then there is battle and I like the battle on the pitch in Italy. I am very well in Udinese."
Molina, on the other hand, could be a good signing for the Gunners, with the Argentine shining at the right-back spot for Udinese, even contributing 12 goals.
Arsenal's Champions League ambitions up in smoke
With a defeat to Newcastle United last night, Arsenal's hopes of a fairytale Champions League return have taken a massive hit.
The Gunners are now two points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fifth. They realistically need their derby rivals to somehow lose against the already-relegated Norwich City on the final day to have a chance of climbing back into fourth.
Arsenal themselves have a tough game against Everton, who're still fighting for survival, and another slip-up would render Tottenham's result meaningless in their own pursuit.

We lost 2 finals through penalty shootouts, not from open play. Moreover you have to consider that Arsenal isn't even in Europe this season. There's no excuse for missing top 4. In the match vs Newcastle, what did Arteta do to try and influence the match? He just subbed off all his defenders except White and Cédric and subbed in all the attackers in a desperate hope to get a lucky goal. But none of those subs made any difference and they never had a plan on how to break down that Newcastle defence. Did you see any good attacking moves in that 2nd half? I didn't. So, it just shows that Arteta lacks the tactical nous to change the dynamic of the football match to try and get a result
you are correct in fact we didn't have a game plan against Newcastle from start to finish they bullied us making the likes of joelinton and saint maximin look like prime Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, I don't understand if we continue doing the samething over and over again how does some Arsenal fans expect to get a different result

Y’all ungrateful!! You all talk good when he is playing well but when things go wrong you all shout and criticize him, What of Tuchel that lost 2 finals to Liverpool same season 💔
Imagine when you have UEL football next season. It's going to be really tough for Arteta even if you invest on a good squad and give him his choice of players. If he's moaning about the fixture list this season, just imagine how much worse it'll be next season. Arteta needs to learn how to handle adversity and difficult situations like top managers instead of being pampered all the time by his advocates.

Losing key players to injuries was a big blow to us, Playing most of the defense line out of position. I believe all this will help the team to get a huge transfer budget and get few depth now by comes next season we should have another trophy in our cabinet! To conclude please I so strongly Trust in Arteta and I believe he is the right man for the job. Job Wenger was unable to do for many years, Turning youngsters into world wining class for the team and not for other club
Where's the guarantee that our current best players won't tread a similar road? If we continue to struggle for top 4 and stay miles behind Liverpool and Manchester City, then players who are more ambitious than the club like Saka, Martinelli, Ødegaard, Smith Rowe etc. may want to leave us for clubs that actually have a decent chance of challenging for league and European titles every season. It was the same mediocrity that lead us to losing our best players back then too. Emery finished 1 point behind 4th and reached a European final with the likes of Bellerín, AMN, Sokratis/Mustafi, Torreira, Xhaka, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan and Özil as starters.. This year we had Tomiyasu and Cédric, White and Gabriel, Partey and arguably a better Xhaka, Saka, Ødegaard and Smith Rowe/Martinelli in those same positions but with a worse striker. That shows how incompetent a manager Arteta is. He got a 3-year extension for more of what we just saw. All vibes no results FC🤡 We badly need more depth next season or else we will finish below 7th in the league and bottle every other tournament in bitter ways too. This transfer window is crucial, the only reason why I wanted our cřap team to get UCL football next season is to attract top players more but that's not going to happen now

Squad depth would have been a problem if we were fighting in other competitions too, but by the last week of January, we already got ourselves knocked out of both the FA cup and EFL cup despite having no European football all season. From that point on, still not making top 4 this season should be considered as a massive failure unless we suffered from a major injury crisis. Speaking of injuries, we lost Tomiyasu for 3 months in January and Tierney and Partey for the rest of the season in April. Before the Newcastle game, White missed 3 games too. All 4 of them are crucial players without the most adequate replacements of course, you mentioned that point too so that's at least something we agree on, but did losing them mean we were left with a squad that should be losing to Crystal Palace, Brighton (AT HOME🤦♂️), Southampton and Newcastle? I don't blame the Spurs defeat on Arteta as that was caused due to a controversial penalty decision and a stupid Holding red card early on which decided the game before it truly started. I know every top team has a few bad results here and there over the course of the season, but with the team we had this time, surrendering 4th place by losing 13 league games despite having no European commitments at all and no domestic cups to worry about since January is a huge 'L'. I consider it a poor season even if we still get top 4 by some miracle next Sunday. Only positives are how the young guns have been groomed and some dodgy new summer signings proving fans wrong. To think we gave that Spanish fráud a new contract last week hurts, a lot

The coach has done a great job letting some big name with underperforming and huge pay go, Ozil, Auba and the rest has been there and not even getting to this level fighting for top 4 by this time we would have settled for 5th or 6th 😹by now
I agree about Özil and Auba💯

Looking at the team Arteta got compared to what other teams, I do not see any reason why we should be putting blames on him, If he was given money for winter transfer the team could have been more stronger than this, Arteta has really done a fantastic job 👏 there is no replacement for the Team! We should be putting the blames on the team not the coach

Both were from penalty shootouts after closely-fought 120 minutes of football on each occasion. What's Tuchel to blame for here? Playing conservatively against a mid-table team with lesser quality players than us and then suddenly making overly offensive subs to disrupt the balance in the team to get his team thoroughly beaten in a must-win game in the race for UCL qualification at this stage of the season, that's called a major sackable offence.

you do understand that tuchel is not only an experience coach but he's an elite manager who happens to win major trophies and the team that he lost to are former world champions, currently in the champions league finals preparing to play another former world champion and they're not some championship or relegation threatened teams? you do understand that they're incomparable right? or you're just blind and deluded? @kutcemry is correct this man will ruin the club and our owners are to be blamed because they don't care
