Arsenal starlet Martinelli vows to stay at the Emirates for his entire LIFE

Gabriel Martinelli is only 20 years old but he has boldly claimed he's ready to finish his career with Arsenal.

The attacker was plucked from the Brazilian third division back in 2019 by the Gunners and he has transformed into a star in Mikel Arteta's side.

Now, speaking to ESPN Brazil, Martinelli has revealed he has no ambition to play elsewhere and is focused on bringing titles to the Emirates Stadium.

'We have a young group, we have a lot of time ahead of us, players with a lot of quality, I think we will achieve great things,' Martinelli said.

'Our focus is the Champions League. Fighting for that top four. A club like Arsenal has to be in the Champions League. It’s our total focus.

'We always want more. Of course, Arsenal are a giant team.

'If I can, I’ll stay here my whole life. I want to conquer things, as I said, I want to stay here and win titles, with these wonderful fans, my team-mates.'

Martinelli is currently under contract at Arsenal until 2024, with the Gunners holding a club option on the 20-year-old for a further year.

He recently revealed he had four trials as a teenager at Manchester United but they never made their interest concrete, leaving the door open for Arsenal.

Barcelona also ran the rule over Martinelli but it was Arsenal who won his signature as he joined while Unai Emery was in charge.

Martinelli concedes that it was a 'giant leap' coming to the Premier League but he is now adapted to the rigours of English football and his goals are now lofty as he is focused on bringing success to north London.

Martinelli, who has played more than 70 times for Arsenal, has 16 goals to his name and is building a reputation as one of the most exciting young players in the league.

Arsenal No 1 goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale recently labelled the Brazilian's finishing as 'frightening' while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp previously called on people to 'remember the name'.

Back in December, Arteta, who deserves credit for unlocking Martinelli's potential, heaped praise on his young Brazilian.

'He (Martinelli) trains incredibly hard, he is always willing to do more and he is not scared or afraid to take risks - and that is what I like about him,' Arteta said.

'You cannot play every action at 100mph, it is impossible. It is not very efficient for you because you burn yourself out after a few minutes, and then you're just chasing a situation and not reading exactly what is needed.

'Gabi is doing much better at that. We have to try to do that without losing the passion, the energy and this capacity he has to just affect the game with the way he acts on the pitch.'
