Borussia Dortmund have set Manchester United an August 10 deadline to complete the signing of Jadon Sancho.
But Dortmund are refusing to sell Sancho on the cheap and want £90million for him – despite the hit the transfer market has taken following the coronavirus pandemic.
England star Sancho is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top transfer target this summer, with the 20-year-old forward keen to join his United revolution.
Sancho wants to leave Dortmund and is excited at the prospect of teaming up with fellow attackers Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.
Agreeing personal terms with Sancho will not be a problem for United, with the only issue left to resolve the fee they must pay for one of Europe's most exciting young players.
United have just over a month to meet Dortmund's asking price for Sancho and conclude a deal, with the Bundesliga club unwilling to become involved in a long-running saga.
Although the transfer window is set to be extended post Covid-19, Dortmund are heading to Switzerland for a training camp on August 10 and want any deal for Sancho done by then.
Dortmund do not want the issue of Sancho's future to undermine their preparations for next season and have made it clear to United there is a deadline they must meet if they want him.
Sancho, Dortmund's top scorer this season with 20 goals, as well as 20 assists, from 44 games, joined them from Manchester City for £8m three years ago and has been a revelation.
Although Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke recently said the club will not accept a “corona disccount” on their original £110m valuation of Sancho, that stance has softened.
United are determined not to pay way over the odds for Sancho, Dortmund are not under any financial pressure to sell him and will stand firm on their £90m asking price.

Since Ed Woodward house got burnt, we sign Fernandes and have gone 16games unbeaten run... I think Man Utd fans need to burn his house the second time so as to Sancho for us

I understand Greenwood has been very good on the right flank. But no matter how good he is there, it's not his natural position. We need someone who is naturally made for that position, while we concentrate on moulding Greenwood into the best striker he can be. Then again, if we're dangerous with Mason Greenwood, How much more with a natural superstar winger like Sancho.

Honestly, with the way Greenwood has been playing lately, I’d rather him than Dancho at the moment, We just need Milonkovic Savic and he will be like a younger version of Matic.

I think we should pull out all the stops to sign Sancho this summer... I know Greenwood is playing well but RW is not his natural position... We should get a proper right winger and in Jadon Sancho I think he is the best young right winger in Europe at the moment... His pace, dribbling and the ability to play in good balls is really important for us... Sancho fits Manchester United like a glove... I think with negotiations the price might drop to 70 - 80 million.... An attack with Sancho, Rashford, Martial is going to be really good.... Greenwood can still play in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and in some of the Premier League and he can provide good squad depth which is otherwise lacking in our team

I honestly don't know why people are liking this crazy comment. His wife and children live in that house. Plus he's not the one with the funds. The Glazier family holds the funds. If you don't know the club is in debt. The deadwood haven't been released and your expecting one man to shell out 120 million Euros for a 20 year old that we can't tell if he'll win us the premier league or not. Anyone who liked this comment should be ashamed of themselves.

Why do you need Sancho when you have Starlet Greenwood? And Dan James as backup subs? No clubs willing to spend high due to coronavirus impact. Think about it €120mil you can get two players
