Atalanta coach Juric expresses sympathy for sacked Tudor

Ivan Juric feels plenty of sympathy for Igor Tudor, who has been sacked by Juventus.

Tudor was dismissed by Juve on Monday in the wake of an eight-game winless run in all competitions.

Juve sit eighth in Serie A, level on 12 points with Juric's Atalanta, who are seventh.

Atalanta take on AC Milan on Tuesday, with the Rossoneri sitting in third place, but Juric offered his sympathy to fellow Croatian Tudor.

Via Football Italia, reporting quotes carried by TuttoMercatoWeb, Juric said: "I feel sorry for Tudor because he was a Juventus man.

"But this is our job. When you have a period where you play well but don’t win, you must improve in every area."

Atalanta (W2 D6) are one of only two teams unbeaten this season in Europe's big five leagues, along with Bayern Munich (W8).

However, they have not won a league game since beating Torino 3-0 on September 21.

They have defeated Club Brugge 2-1 in the Champions League in that time, though drew 0-0 with Slavia Prague last week before drawing 1-1 with Cremonese on Saturday.

"Playing every two to three days is difficult," said Juric.

"We analyse things day by day. To contain Milan, we need rhythm and compactness."
