Sources tell AS the club is angry, not just for the Juventus player's gesture at the end of the game, similar to Simeone's in the first leg but directed at the away fans.
Atlético de Madrid are still furious with Cristiano Ronaldo for the attitude he showed on the final whistle of this week's Champions League return leg in Turin.
The Juventus striker, who turned the tie around with a hat trick in the second leg, turned to the stands where Juventus and Atlético fans were seated and made an obscene gesture - a more exaggerated version of Diego Simeone celebration during the first leg at the Wanda Metropolitano (the Atleti coach simulated holding his genitals and was served a 20,000 euro fine by UEFA for improper conduct).
The difference between the two gestures is that Simeone's was directed at Atlético's own supporters, which he himself stressed after the game whereas Cristiano's was aimed at the travelling supporters.
To make matters worse, Movistar Liga de Campeones cameras caught the Juve player taunting Atleti fans by calling them 'motherf***ers' (hijos de puta) just before he scored the third goal - the images were later broadcast in Spain by #Vamos.
Atlético de Madrid were not happy with the insults to their fans or the gesture and AS understands that the club are considering presenting a formal complaint to UEFA.
If UEFA open a case against Cristiano, he could be served an economic fine similar to the one Simeone was given and possibly be hit with a suspension (from one to three games) if UEFA decide that Cristiano's behaviour could be construed as inciting violence.

Simeone didn’t get banned, he just got a fine. I think the difference is that Simeone did it to the home fans, not towards the away fans. Cristiano did it directly to the away fans. Regardless, he should be given the same punishment as Simeone and just pay a fine

Most Fans are never professional but players are expected to be professional. Retaliation always receives a harsher sentence. I love Ronaldo but l would not be surprised if he is handed a more harsher punishment. As a professional you don't over react. Remember the king Cantona after being provoked by a fan he responded with a flying Kung fu kick on the fan. Yes he was provoked but he was punished bcoz of his over reaction. Being humble and professional means staying calm even when provoked and giving answers on the field of play by good performances. If this was done on Messi l do not see him reacting in this way but going about doing what he knows best on the field.

This is completely unbelievable. Those fans should be ban ronaldo just had his revenge. They wished him death and that is a serious matter. Ronaldo did nothing wrong at all they were the one's who first made him angry. If they didn't insult him and simeone didn't make that same gesture it will all be fine. Nonsense shameful club they should go and cry or better yet sell melons.

jealousy. I placed all my hopes in Atletico and they played the match and lost like there were bribed. in a woeful manner. I wish Cristiano had done more than the big balls celebration. you deserved worse from a champion who warned you of a hat trick before the match and came and did it . besides when simeone was doing it in the first leg to lose in the second what was he thinking???

ATM should be ashamed of themselves for pretending to not know the origin of the CR7 ballsy celebration. As they say; what goes around surely come around and the one who laughs last is the one laughs loudest [Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh] till tears shade...

I bet you all my AF coins ronaldo would pay a fine of 1 Million Euros than receiving a one Champions League game ban. That's the passion.
