Mario Balotelli has taken a swipe at Patrick Vieira after his departure from Genoa was announced today.
The coach and club agreed to part ways by mutual consent today.
Balotelli, who left Genoa this season, is happy to see Vieria's demise after being frozen out by the Frenchman last season.
The veteran striker was signed by Alberto Gilardino before he was dismissed and replaced by Vieira.
Balotelli posted to social media: "Now Genoa can finally focus on people who truly love the atmosphere, the fans, and the crest, and who deeply believe in the idea and the fact that Genoa deserves to be at the top!
"The great work experienced firsthand by Gilardino and (Alberto) Zangrillo hasn't been wasted: it's just been selfishly and badly exploited by those who came after, profiting from what they had built with hard work, respect, and passion. They exploited the immense work of Gilardino and Zangrillo, their commitment and dedication to these colors, without truly understanding its value.
"Now let's focus on on Genoa and the Genoans! Go Genoa! Go guys! I believed in you, and I still do!”
