'Barca pay lifetime salary to every European champions', says ex-striker Heredia

Juan Carlos Heredia has revealed that he receives a lifetime salary from Barcelona due to helping the club to a European title.

The Argentine played alongside Johan Cruyff for the Blaugrana and was port of the side that won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1979.

Heredia recently revealed to The Tactical Room that every Barcelona who had won a European trophy received a lifetime contract after a promise from former president Joan Laporta.

"When Barcelona won the Champions League final in Rome against Manchester United with a goal from [Lionel] Messi, the club president [Joan Laporta] declared that all those who were European champions with Barcelona were going to receive a salary for life. And he fulfilled it," he said.
