Barca's last visit to Inter: The volcano, Milito's offside goal and more

The one-hour flight Barcelona took from the Catalan capital to Milan this week was very different from their travel arrangements when they last played Inter away.

It was in 2010 for a Champions League semi-final first leg and they had to make their way to the Italian city by bus as a result of the ash cloud from an Icelandic volcano which grounded flights across Europe.

Their long journey included a stopover in Cannes for the night and, once they arrived, the Blaugrana were not in the best condition for such an important match.

They lost the match 3-1, but their frustration grew given that there was an offside for Diego Milito's goal to make it 3-1.

Referee Olegario Benquerenca then turned away a penalty appeal from Dani Alves for a Wesley Sneijder tackle, further enraging the Blaugrana.

They could only win 1-0 at home in the second leg, allowing Jose Mourinho's Inter to progress and to win the final against Bayern Munich.
