Marc-Andre ter Stegen 7 - Calm, showed security on the ball. VAR kept his clean sheet.

Nelson Semedo 6 - To have Messi ahead of him allowed Semedo to show off his attacking side, but he lost some dangerous balls.

Gerard Pique 7 - Whistled by Espanyol fans but stayed calm and played well. The rivalry motivates him.

Clement Lenglet 6 - Pique’s the leader and Lenglet’s role is more to collaborate to make sure it all goes perfectly. Anticipated well but lost some balls which was a worry.

Jordi Alba 7 - Worked more in defence with Dembele ahead of him. He corrected and changed the position of Dembele more than once, works better with Coutinho.

Sergio Busquets 6 - Cut off everything that went through his zone but also had problems with Espanyol’s press.

Arturo Vidal 7 - In his first derby with Espanyol he was pumped up and worked hard in attack and defence, all over the pitch.

Ivan Rakitic 7 - Getting back to form although some symptoms that he is not at his best are still present.

Leo Messi 10 - Brutal. Two perfect free-kicks, great assist for Dembele.

Luis Suarez 8 - The Killer is back and he got the goal he was looking for. Worked hard, fighting throughout as is his wont.

Ousmane Dembele 8 - Curled home well and set up Suarez. Lost some balls and was low on fuel after the break so subbed first.
