Betting Tips: Napoli vs Sampdoria

Carlo Ancelotti's side are big favourites with the bookmakers, but the visitors should pose plenty of attacking threat themselves at Stadio San Paolo

Napoli lost their midweek Coppa Italia clash with AC Milan but 888Sport fancy them to bounce back to winning ways against Sampdoria on Saturday.

The online bookmaker are just 7/20 (1.35) about a home victory and that's understandable given they boast 29 points from a possible 33 in Serie A at Stadio San Paolo so far.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are yet to lose a league game in front of their own fans this term but it's 15/2 (8.50) that Sampdoria come out on top here. The draw meanwhile, trades at 19/5 (4.80) with the same firm.

Those prices are tough to argue with but there appears to be some mileage in backing goals in Naples this weekend.

Napoli have the third-best defensive record in the Italian top-flight, but they've still conceded 18 times in 21 games. Three of those came in the reverse fixture when they were soundly beaten back in September.

The hosts have also netted 39 times this season but that's a tally matched by Sampdoria. The visitors have only failed to score on the road twice this term and that includes finding the net against Juventus, Milan and Roma all of whom sit above them in the league.

Those three trips all ended in defeat but the 4/5 (1.80) about both teams scoring in the game looks worthy of consideration. As does the 11/8 (2.38) about a match featuring four or more goals.

Fabio Quagliarella is on the cusp of history for the visitors, looking to find the net for a 12th consecutive league game and the in-form forward should give the visitors plenty of impetus in the final third, even if the game ultimately ends in defeat.

As an extension of that, the Napoli win where both teams find the net is a potential selection for punters seeking bigger potential returns at 7/4 (2.75).

That's paid out in four games that Ancelotti's side have hosted in Serie A this season and with Sampdoria boasting more of a threat than most of the teams that have visited the Stadio San Paolo so far, it looks worth backing once more.
