Bordeaux midfielder Yassine Benrahou has issued an apology to the club's supporters after posting pictures of himself out running in a Paris Saint-Germain jacket.

The 20-year-old, who spent a brief year at PSG's academy, has been at Bordeaux since 2014 and graduated through their youth system to break into the first team this year.

Benrahou came under heavy criticism from Bordeaux supporters this week for wearing the colours of their Ligue 1 rivals and admitted it was a mistake on his behalf.

'I would like to tell you that I have done all of my classes at the FCGB and that it is a great honor for me to represent the colors of my training club whenever I have the opportunity,' he said in a statement.

'The clothes do not make the man. Do not judge, do not stigmatize, the main thing is not what you wear on your sweatshirt but what you have been fighting for every day since the age of 15.'

Bordeaux reminded Benrahou, who has since deleted the pictures, of his responsibilities to 'respect the coat of arms and their colours' after the pictures emerged on social media, commenting: 'The Scapular is a pride that must be represented with dignity in the different moments of his life. The institution is above all.'

The Moroccan Under 20 international has made six league appearances for Bordeaux this season but has only featured once in the last three months.
