Brazil's Football Federation has been fined £11,800 for homophobic chanting by fans during the host nation's Copa America opener against Bolivia.
South American football's governing body CONMEBOL announced the fine after Bolivian goalkeeper Carlos Lampe was subjected to slurs during his side's 3-0 loss to Brazil in Sao Paulo on June 14.
Anti-gay chanting had previously been overlooked in South America until recently, and FIFA has repeatedly fined the Brazilian FA for homophobic chanting in local stadiums.
Lampe heard the slurs several times during the match at the Morumbi Stadium, which usually take place as the goalkeeper tries to take goal-kicks.
More chants were heard on Thursday during Brazil's quarterfinal - a penalty shootout win over Paraguay - at the Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre.
Brazil were frustrated by their dogged opponents, who reduced to 10 men after Fabian Balbuena was sent off on 58 minutes.
Gabriel Jesus netted the winning penalty after Gustavo Gomez and Derlis Gonzalez missed for Paraguay, while Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino missed his kick from 12 yards.
Brazil will face either Venezuela or Argentina in the semi-finals next Tuesday.
Uruguay was also fined in £7,900 for delaying its return to the pitch after the half-time break in a 2-2 draw with Japan.
